Instead of drawing every redaction box by hand, let this tool find likely credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, email addresses, and phone numbers first — review what it found, then redact exactly the ones you choose. Entirely in your browser.
No signup · No file limits · Files never leave your deviceIt's scanned instantly for patterns that look like card numbers, SSNs, emails, and phone numbers.
Every match shows as a masked preview — nothing sensitive is displayed in full, and every item has its own checkbox.
Only the items you leave checked get permanently redacted — the same genuine, page-flattening redaction our Redact PDF tool uses.
Pattern matching against the PDF's extracted text, plus a couple of real checks where they exist: a Luhn checksum for anything shaped like a card number, and the Social Security Administration's own documented invalid-range rules for anything shaped like an SSN. A Luhn-valid, correctly-formatted number is proof it's a validly formed number — not proof it's a real, currently active card.
Anything without a clean, machine-matchable pattern — names, street addresses, internal account numbers with no standard format. This tool is meant to catch the obvious, well-formatted cases quickly; it's not a substitute for a careful manual pass with our Redact PDF tool on anything that genuinely matters.
Real. Once you redact a selected match, the page it's on is rebuilt without the underlying text or image data in that area — the same genuine mechanism our Redact PDF tool uses, not a movable rectangle sitting over content that's still there underneath. See how to verify this yourself on any PDF tool, including this one.
The report masks everything it finds by default — the same convention banks and card issuers already use — since there's no reason to display a full card number or SSN on screen just to confirm it should be redacted.
No. Scanning, reviewing, and redacting all happen entirely inside your browser.
