Frequently Asked Questions
Does this turn my document into images, like some compress tools do?
No. This tool recompresses only the images already embedded in your PDF — any real text stays exactly as real, selectable text, and page layout is untouched. If your PDF has little or no images, expect little or no size change, but it will never balloon in size the way flattening a whole document into pictures can.
Will this reduce image quality?
Some, depending on the level you choose — this is a real trade-off between file size and image sharpness, same as any photo compression. Text and vector graphics are unaffected regardless of the level chosen.
Which compression level should I choose?
"Balanced" is a good default for most files. "Max Compression" gives the smallest file at lower image quality. "Light Optimization" keeps image quality closer to the original with a smaller size reduction.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Compression happens entirely inside your browser.
