Frequently Asked Questions

Will a colorful, logo'd, or background-image QR code still scan?

The live scannability meter under the preview checks your color contrast, logo size, and background image visibility in real time and tells you plainly if something's likely to cause trouble — most competitors only offer this kind of check on a paid plan, and even then it's not instant.

How does the background image style stay scannable?

Your photo is lightened before it's placed behind the code, and every dark module is still drawn fully solid on top regardless of what's in the photo — only the light areas let the (lightened) photo show through. Error correction is automatically bumped to High when you add one. It's still a bigger style choice than a plain background, so test with your own phone camera before relying on it, same as with a logo.

Why isn't there an AI-generated "QR art" style (a code shaped like a logo or scene)?

Those are made with a generative image model (Stable Diffusion + ControlNet), not a styling technique — they need real GPU inference and a multi-gigabyte model, which means either a heavy client-side download that would be slow on most phones, or a server doing the generation. Either way breaks the actual thing this tool is built on: nothing ever leaves your browser. We'd rather say so plainly than quietly compromise that to chase a trendier look.

Why isn't there a "dynamic QR code" or scan analytics option?

Those features require a server: a "dynamic" QR code actually points at someone else's server, which looks up where to redirect you every time it's scanned — and scan analytics require that same server to log every scan. Since this entire tool runs only in your browser with nothing hosted on our end, every code you generate here points directly at your real content and works forever, with nothing routing through us, ever.

Do you host my logo, background image, or any files I link to?

No. Your logo and any background image are embedded directly into the QR image in your browser and never uploaded anywhere. For content types like "File Link," you paste a link to something you've already uploaded elsewhere (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) — we don't provide file hosting.

PNG or SVG — which should I use?

SVG stays perfectly crisp at any size, which matters if you're putting a QR code on a large poster or banner. PNG is simpler and works everywhere. Both are generated fresh at export time, so neither one is ever blurry.

Is anything I type or upload sent anywhere?

No. Every part of this — the QR encoding, the styling, the logo, any background image — happens entirely inside your browser.

Is this free?

Yes, completely free with no daily limit.
