No. Camera capture, edge detection, perspective correction, color processing, and PDF creation all happen entirely inside your browser. Nothing is ever sent to a server.
It watches the live camera feed for a document-shaped edge that stays steady and fills a reasonable portion of the frame for about a second. If your hand is moving or the document isn't clearly in view, it simply waits rather than capturing a bad shot. You can turn this off and use the manual "Capture Now" button instead, any time.
